1. Call your local DMV and find out when and where they give the written test for the commercial drivers license. 2. Go to the designated test site and take the test for your class A or B with air brakes permit. For a class A, you will need to test on your general knowledge, air brakes, and combination. Class B needs general knowledge and air brakes. 3 Once you have passed your written test, go to the DMV and pay for your permit. They will issue you a paper stating you are legal to drive while you wait for your hard copy permit. As of 8/28/13 you must wait 14 days after you pay for your permit to take your driving exam. 4. Once you have your hard copy permit, or your legal to drive paper, call CASE CDL at 314-803-8104 to schedule your appointment. 5. We will send you a link for you to take your theory test that needs to be completed within 30 days with atleast an 80%.
